What happens next
New claims are looked at in batches, usually every few days, and each one is checked on the group's own page, for example a link there to the group's page on this site, or your name among its organisers. A claim changes nothing on our pages by itself. If it holds, we may use your details to ask you about the group for 90 days after we have looked at your claim; then we delete them and keep only that the claim was accepted.
We send no email from this form. If we have a question, we may write to the address you give. To have a listing corrected or removed, you can also write to us through thingstojoin.com/contact.
What we keep, and who sees it
We keep what you write in this form. We set no cookie and keep no IP address. Like every page of this site, your visit is counted by the site's own page-view counter, which does not name you: thingstojoin.com/privacy says how.
Your name, your role, your email address, how we can see that you run the group and your note are encrypted as soon as our site receives them, and they stay sealed. Only we open them, at a terminal on our server, with our review command, and only if we need to check your claim or write back to you. Nothing of it is published.
We delete them 90 days after we have looked at your claim, or 120 days after you sent it if we have not looked at it by then. Backups of our database can keep them, encrypted, for up to about 13 months after that. Cloudflare, which serves this site, keeps its own copy of your claim for three months from the day you send it, your details encrypted as above, and nobody can delete that copy sooner. To have your claim deleted earlier, write to us through thingstojoin.com/contact: we delete ours at once.
